Your cold kingdom has long been ruled by an indifferent queen, her doddering husband, and three princesses: one, adopted and dutiful, and the other two a pair of troublesome twins. 

Anyway, not long ago, some wyches and daimons raised a ruckus, one of the twins got their head chopped off and replaced with a ewe's, and now both twins have vanished entirely. 

You're trailing a knight who's going after them, hired to carry luggage and loot. Sure, none of you know anything about fighting daimons, wyches, or restoring heads to princesses, but the whole world's dying anyway and a job's a job.
